Yunting Ruan

AKA Rain, is one of the representative comic artists in China, illustrator, an associate professor of China Academy of Art.

Since 1997, she has been publishing graphic novels and comics, also illustrating covers for books and magazines.

Ruan is currently teaching in China Academy of Art. She also teaches online and in person workshops that focus on comics creating and appreciating beauty in aspects of everyday life in China and France (High School of Arts of the Rhine, and College of Decorative Arts of Strasbourg, France)

Independent Animation Film:


2007 Ruan independently directed and created the sand animation film Baishe/ White Snake, in the same year, it was shortlisted by the International Animation Film Festivals of Annecy, France, and Stuttgart Animated Film Festival, Germany. In 2017, it was selected for the “New Intergenerational China” unit at the Annecy International Film Festival.
